C h e m i c a l   P r o c e s s   L i c e n s i n g   D i s p u t e  

     A license was acquired by a major U.S. chemical producer from a major West German chemical plant engineer/constructor. A dispute soon arose regarding the viability of the process, process guarantees, and the possibility of fraud. ChemTech personnel reviewed the licensing agreements, related correspondence, design drawings, and plant operating data. Interviews were conducted with involved U.S. and West German parties.

     ChemTech conducted an extensive survey and interviewing process with other chemical process licenses in the U.S., South Africa, Poland, Columbia, Spain and West Germany. Extensive plant production records were reviewed and malfunction trends and causes were established. Unsuccessful negotiations with the licensor lead to ChemTech developed process improvements. Additional clientowned data was prepared to permit a sharing of new technology in trade for original conflict resolution offer was prepared.back
